In addition to a league championship, Tommy Fisher and John Bastardo picked up individual awards from the GNCHC.

On Sunday night Tommy Fisher took home tournament MVP for the 2016 GNCHC Playoffs.  Fisher capped off a strong defensive performance with two goals in the championship game against Scranton.  During Saturday’s semi final the South Brunswick native also tallied an assist.

The award capped off an impressive season for the junior defenseman.  Fisher netted 30 points, including 10 goals in just 20 regular season games.  Fine of his goals came with the man advantage.  In addition to his strong offensive game, Fisher also had a strong season on the defensive side of the puck.  In spite of playing against other team’s top units and a lot of minutes on the penalty kill, he managed to only to take two penalties the whole season.

Freshman John Bastardo also received the Finbar O’Connor Sportsmanship Award from the League Commissioner.  The Rutgers coaching staff noted his hard work and commitment to the team throughout the year.  John finished the regular season with 11 points in 15 games and only two penalty minutes.
